ENVIRONMENT
Crown places a high priority on environmental matters. Environmental commitment and pollution prevention are a fundamental part of our business philosophy. We continuously assess areas of potential environmental impact in our manufacturing activities. Today, environmental matters are as much a part of the Company's business plans as marketing, financial, or production considerations. We are committed to policies and business practices aimed at reducing the impact of our manufacturing operations and products on the environment. Environmental considerations are also paramount in all technological developments ensuring that new products encompass environmental benefits.

Crown respects the environment and is committed to environmentally sound business practices around the world, thus taking into account the need to preserve natural resources and save energy. This commitment is put into practice not only in actions we have implemented throughout the years but also by participating in voluntary programs that go beyond legislative regulations.

Areas of Environmental Action include:

  • Conserving natural resources - preserve clean water, reduce water consumption, save raw materials (lightweighting), save energy, etc.
  • Reducing the emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
  • Recycling nearly 100% of the aluminum, steel, copper, resins, solvents and other raw materials used in the manufacturing process. In addition to raw material recycling, Crown recycles packaging and packing material such as chipboard, scrap wood, wood pallets, plastic strapping and pails and coil packaging material, among others.
  • Managing waste -- both at the point of production and post-consumer.
  • Using environmental-friendly technologies.
  • Support high rates of recycling for our products by using recycled materials in our production.
  • Complying with all local, state, national and international environmental regulations.
