New Program Helps Identify Tomorrow’s Leadership

Crown Europe is taking a proactive approach to filling its operational leadership positions of tomorrow with the FORWARD initiative. Designed to identify, recruit and train candidates with key foundational skills, the new program exposes participants to assignments that span countries and disciplines ranging from continuous improvement to engineering over a 24 to 36 month period.

“The FORWARD initiative gives qualified candidates the opportunity to build the skills they need to succeed in senior-level jobs before they have to perform them,” explains Sjoerd-Jaap Schaaf, HRD Recruiting, Succession Planning & Functional Support at Crown Europe. “By taking these steps now, we are able to offer long-term stability for our customers and gain the agility we need as a business as we continue to deliver new technologies and services to the global market.”

A field of 250 applicants was narrowed to a final group of eight program participants, with assignments in Crown locations around the world beginning this month. At the end of the program rotation, Crown will work with each participant to select a permanent position based on fit and open opportunities.
