Packaging leader showcases innovative technologies at Istanbul show

Philadelphia, PA – August 27, 2014 – CROWN Food Europe, a business unit of Crown Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: CCK) (Crown) (www.crowncork.com), will be showcasing its innovative and sustainable food packaging technologies at the Eurasia Packaging Fair 2014, September 18-21 Istanbul, Turkey (Hall 7 Stand: 716).

Currently the 18th largest economy in the world, Turkey is also one of the fastest growing, with an average real GDP annual growth rate of 5.2% between 2002 and 2011 – set to rise to 6.7% in 20171. The canned and preserved food market is up +5% on value growth for 20132 which coincides with the rise of consumer disposable income. Consumption habits are changing for the country’s population of 76 million, half of whom are under 30 years old. Recent rapid urbanization, combined with an increase in the female workforce and the growth of Turkey’s export markets, have all led to a diversification of consumer goods in the country.
