Crown Sponsors England Amputee Football Association

Philadelphia, PA — May 23, 2016. CROWN Bevcan Europe & Middle East, a business unit of Crown Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: CCK)(Crown) (www.crowncork.com) announces a partnership agreement with the England Amputee Football Association’s (EAFA) Junior Teams.

The leader in metal packaging supported the EAFA’s Junior Great Britain team in the sport’s first ever European Junior Training Camp, which took place in March 2016. More than 40 children aged between six and sixteen, from Poland, England, Italy, Netherlands and Ireland, came together for three days of amputee football training from the EAFA’s qualified coaches.

Owen Coyle, Great Britain Development Head Coach and First Team coach said: “Crown has proved an invaluable partner by providing support and helping us achieve a positive and successful event. We are constantly looking to grow and to inspire, and it is through the help of our partners, like Crown, that we can continue to provide any person with an amputation, congenital deficiency or other limb affecting disorder the opportunity to access amputee football at the grassroots, club and national levels.” 

EAFA is a charity that aims to promote amputee football clubs across the country and to ensure that these teams provide recreational football and have access to competitive football as part of its development strategy. The charity also supports the national team, by administering Great Britain Amputee Football (GBAF), enabling the team to have access to training and funding support to attend European & World events.
