Philadelphia, PA – July 5, 2007. Crown Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: CCK) (Crown) (www.crowncork.com) announces today that John Clinton, age 50, has been appointed Senior Vice President, Sourcing Europe. He was previously Senior Vice President of Crown's European beverage business. Terry Cartwright has been selected to replace him.

As Senior Vice President for Sourcing, Mr. Clinton will be responsible for purchasing for Crown's European Division, including Beverage, Food, Aerosols, Speciality Packaging and Closures. He will report to Chris Homfray, President of CROWN Europe.

"I look forward to further developing the strong relationships I built with our suppliers while managing the European beverage business," adds Mr. Clinton. "It is a great opportunity to manage a key strategic area for Crown in a challenging cost environment."

Mr. Clinton began his career in purchasing in the railway, power cable and aluminum extrusion industries. He joined Crown in 1993 as Logistics and Customer Service Manager for Beverage in the UK. Since then, he has held an array of sales, marketing and management positions with increasing responsibility for Crown's European beverage business.

Most recently, Mr. Clinton was Senior Vice President of CROWN Bevcan Europe and Middle East. During his tenure, he oversaw the geographic expansion of Crown's European beverage business, including the management of a two-year investment program in the Middle East and the opening of a new facility in Tunis.

Mr. Clinton holds an MBA from the University of Chicago. He lives in Paris with his wife, Jane, and 3 children.
