Composite Closures
IDEAL CLOSURE®
This innovative composite closure combines the characteristics of metal and plastic to offer superior barrier performance, easier opening for seniors and children and exceptional brand differentiation on the shelf.
Compatible with both glass and plastic containers, the IDEAL CLOSURE® is a hybrid of a plastisol-lined metal disk and a plastic band. The metal disk forms an airtight seal against the container to guard against oxygen ingress while the consumer-friendly plastic band facilitates easy opening. Less removal torque is required as compared to standard closures due to the decreased friction between the closure liner and the container finish. The plastic band also includes a perforated “drop down” section, which breaks before the seal itself is broken to provide clear tamper evidence and eliminates the need for a secondary inner seal.
Compatible with both glass and plastic containers, IDEAL™ allows brand owners to present a consistent image on retail shelves since all products can be packed with the same cap.
The IDEAL CLOSURE® also offers a great deal of branding flexibility on the center disk, even allowing the underside to be decorated for promotional purposes. The closure is suitable for multiple filling processes including hot and cold fill, dry seal, pasteurization and retort.

Superplus™
Crown’s innovative Superplus™ closure brings an entirely new level of food safety, flexibility and tamper evidence to the food industry.
Designed to enhance our PT range of closures, Superplus™ features a unique bi-material molded insert and is fully compliant with all EU and FDA migration standards as the gasket contains no PVC, ESBO, ADC or 2-EHA. Superplus™ metal closures provide dual tamper evidence by combining a vacuum button with a plastic tamper-evident band. This drop-down band eliminates the need for secondary packaging such as shrink films or paper tabs and can be colored to match the closure and the label. The closures are completely recyclable through conventional systems.
Superplus™ closures are suitable for hot fill, pasteurization and sterilization, enabling food packagers to keep one type of closure on hand, reducing inventories, simplifying logistics and lowering costs.

PT Plus
Offering enhanced product security as compared to standard PT closures, our PT Plus incorporates both a vacuum button and integral tamper evident band, making it ideal for baby food applications. The tamper evident band also reduces packaging costs by eliminating the need for secondary protective measures such as shrink wrapping or tagging.
The PT Plus also helps brand owners enhance product differentiation with its distinct design and the ability to color-match the tamper evident ring.

Preson
The visual appeal and easy reclosability of this composite closure makes it an ideal choice for applications packaged in containers that have a tendency to be reused by consumers. Requiring a simple glass bead finish that is often found on bowls, tumblers and carafes, consumers can easily reseal the container by snapping the closure into place.
The closure’s vacuum button ensures product integrity while its metal disk and plastic band offer multiple opportunities to enhance shelf impact.
The Preson “family” includes Preson H (no thumb tab) and can be used for hot fill, retort and mechanical vacuum processes.
