Our food can plant in Murcia, Spain supported the Segura Food Bank’s “Apadrina una Calle” (“Sponsor a Street”) initiative – a project where symbolic aisles within the food bank’s facilities are named after companies that donate to this worthy cause. Our team participated in the celebratory event presided over by the Mayor of Murcia, José Francisco Ballesta, reinforcing the Company’s commitment to making a positive contribution to those in need in the local community.

For an annual donation of €3,000, benefactors enable the institution to continue carrying out its essential work as efficiently as possible. In 2019, the Segura Food Bank distributed more than 2.5 million kilograms (equivalent to over 5.511 million pounds) of food to over 30,000 people - figures that are expected to increase to an incredible four million kilograms in 2020 due to the social and health impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The food bank added to its collection total in 2019 with the help of its “Grand Collection” initiative. More than 2,000 volunteers participated in the program, helping the food bank have a presence in over 200 shops across the region. In the end, 350,000 kilograms (771,617 pounds) of food was collected.

We appreciate the hard work and dedication of the organization, its volunteers and the heart-warming kindness shown by the local population. Crown is honored to support the “Sponsor a Street” campaign alongside companies such as Primafrío, UCAM, Emuasa and the Agrupación de Sardineros.
