Crown Cork & Seal Completes Sale of Danish Metal Closure Assets

PHILADELPHIA, May 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Crown Cork & Seal Company, Inc. (NYSE: CCK) today announced that it has completed the sale of the metal closure assets of its Danish subsidiary, Crown Cork Company Scandinavia A/S, located in Taastrup, Denmark to Pelliconi Scandinavia A/S.

Crown Cork Company Scandinavia A/S manufactures, sells and distributes metal closures (crowns) for glass bottles to the brewery and soft drink industries in Scandinavia. Revenues for the business, which employs approximately 40 people, were approximately 8 million euros in 2001. The subsidiary also sells and distributes plastic closures on behalf of Crown Obrist AG, based in Switzerland. In the future, the plastic closure activity will be handled directly by Crown Obrist from Switzerland.
