(NYSE: CCK) today announced that food processors can build brand differentiation and loyalty with new award-winning Peel Seam(TM) peelable lid sizes. Available throughout Europe in 73 mm, 83 mm and 99 mm dimensions, Peel Seam(TM) is quickly, easily and safely removed, leaving no sharp edges. The round lids are designed to run through conventional filling and seaming equipment, allowing food processors to cost-effectively convert from traditional can ends.

Ideal for a variety of products including dry powders, fruits and retortable applications like pet food, fish salad, vegetables, meat recipe meals and cooking sauces, Peel Seam(TM) consists of a thin, flexible panel, heat-sealed to a rigid steel or aluminum ring which is conventionally flanged for the usual double seaming process. The panel features a small tab for easy lifting and is constructed from aluminum foil, laminated with polypropylene film on the inside and lacquered on the outside.

To further enhance brand recognition, packagers can cost-effectively emboss the Peel Seam(TM) foil tab, or decorate the panel itself, with company logos, graphics and promotions. An advanced gravure printing process ensures high quality results.
