Crown Closures North America Earns Excellence In Quality At IMDA Annual Conference

PHILADELPHIA, June 13, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Crown Closures North America, a business unit of Crown Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: CCK) (www.crowncork.com), was recognized at this year's International Metal Decorators Association (IMDA) annual conference. Crown's production of 82mm Twist metal closures for Margarita's Amigos salsa earned the 'Best of Category' award within the Closures and Ends group.

Margarita's Amigos approached Crown seeking a partner that could print and manufacture their salsa closure as they had originally intended. "We recognized from the start that Margarita's Amigos was pursuing high quality printing to make sure their packaging continues to help grow their brand," said Eric Meyer, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Crown Closures North America. "Our goal was to deliver a printed metal closure that accentuated their brand while highlighting their heritage and signature colors so the closure could be used on all their salsa products."

The 82mm vacuum twist closure was printed at Crown's Weirton, West Virginia lithograph facility and manufactured in Crown's Connellsville, Pennsylvania metal closures plant.

Metal packaging designs from around the world compete for IMDA honors in eight categories, including Aerosol, Closures, Food, Specialty, Two-Piece and Technical Achievement. Participants are judged by an impartial panel comprised of graphic arts professionals, and entries are based on criteria including printing quality, degree of difficulty, appearance of coating finishes, registration, and degree of technical expertise required.
