Working with Crown means more than ensuring a supply of innovative closures. It is a real partnership supporting you at every step of the process – from cap design to filled product.
Customer Technical Service
Crown's Customer Technical Service (CTS) organization provides expert technical advice to help you maximize your production capabilities and create the highest quality finished product. With multiple technical advisors, the CTS team provides on-site support for all your plants across the globe.

Our team has extensive knowledge of food processing issues and regulations and has developed many practical tools to help you achieve optimum cap performance. These include:
- Cap Requirement Specification documents to help you select the proper closures for the product being packaged
- Guidelines for recommended filling and sealing conditions and troubleshooting advice
- Line audits in customer plants
Today's brands need more than just quality metal closure technology to grow sales and maintain consumer loyalty. To give you the extra competitive edge you need, we offer a variety of training initiatives to customers around the world. Training seminars can be conducted at a customer site or one of our Centers of Excellence. At each seminar, our internal experts provide insight into maximizing the efficiency of sterilization, pasteurization and capping processes. Participants also receive information on regional trends in food legislation and capping technology. Detailed success stories allow you to adopt best practices that enhance production procedures.

We also offer a white room facility in Goleniow, Poland to support aseptic lines.
CTS teams at Crown's Centers of Excellence work closely with customers to develop capping machinery that meets small, medium or large production volume demands. Factors such as line layout and production goals are carefully considered and the collaborative development process is designed to ensure that equipment delivers optimum results. We are also on-site to install the equipment and start up the line.
Compounds are specially formulated liquid plastisols that are applied to the interior of a metal closure to enable sealing onto a container and ensure barrier performance. Crown's R&D facilities in Wantage, England and Chicago, Illinois, together with our Center of Excellence in Lancaster, Ohio, are responsible for the development of new compound technology and the improvement of existing formulations. All three facilities are staffed by world-class experts in chemistry and microbiology and possess knowledge of food safety regulations around the world.
Glass Finish Specifications
Crown has created a glass finish specifications resource to enhance communication with customers and match composite and metal closures to the glass neck finish being used to package a product. The reference guide contains glass finish specification drawings, process compatibility information, glass nomenclature, critical dimensions and finish reference charts.
