When it comes to the canning process, double seaming is a critical step in creating an airtight seal that helps to preserve product freshness and prevent degradation. After all, that last thing consumers want is to crack open a can of their favorite food or beverage only to find that a canning defect caused the product to spoil or lose its taste.

Overcoming Can Filling Challenges

To help food and beverage fillers overcome potential challenges during the seaming process, Crown offers an advanced and innovative solution that operates in real time, called Integra™.

Maintaining Seam Integrity

The intelligent double seaming system was developed to help monitor the integrity and quality of can seams and consequently to advance the process of streamlining the production of fault free, quality packaged goods.

How Does Integra™ Work?

The Integra™ system is a combined hardware and software solution that is installed on food and beverage filler lines to measure double seam quality. It is intended to simultaneously identify deviations from standard seaming conditions and reject defective products that may hinder the production process.

Increasing Success While Decreasing Damage

The system is ultimately intended to help optimize can seamer settings and increase tooling life. Upon detecting reoccurring seamer failures, the system automatically halts production, allowing for swifter recalibration and reducing the risk of machine damage.

In addition to supplying customers with the system’s installation, Crown also provides:
