Crown Lithography Trinidad Recognized for Green Efforts
At Crown, how we make our products is just as important as what we make. We remain committed to making Crown better in many different ways, including conserving resources across our operations to implementing manufacturing practices that improve productivity and safety. We are proud of these efforts and are honored when our local communities or industry recognizes them.
Just last month, several members of our Crown Lithography Trinidad Limited team attended the Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturers Association’s (TTMA) 4th annual Excellence in Manufacturing Award ceremony in Port-of-Spain. Crown took home the association’s inaugural award for 2016 Green Manufacturer of the Year, one of nine award categories presented during the event.
Over the last 10 years, our plants in this region have continued to implement practices to reduce their impact on the environment. However, a few major projects were instrumental in Crown Lithography Trinidad receiving this award. For example, all emissions tests and sound level surveys were well below their required limits, recycling of all paper and plastic waste was also at a record level, and heavy-duty wooden pallets used to ship steel coils were dismantled and the lumber was reused to manufacture a series of smaller pallets that were deployed within the plant.
