Yardley, PA – January 23, 2020. To continue to identify and train qualified candidates for future operational leadership positions, Crown Europe, a division of Crown Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: CCK) (Crown), has launched the fourth cycle of its FORWARD Programme. The Company is seeking 10 qualified candidates (8 Industrial Engineers and 2 Commercial/Marketing Executives) for its career acceleration program, which sends participants on a two- to three-year journey that spans disciplines, product areas, and geographies. At the end of the programme rotation, Crown will work with each participant to select a permanent position based on performance and available opportunities.

As part of this new cycle, Crown is seeking candidates for eight engineering slots and two commercial roles. Each program participant will be given three assignments in various operations departments, including continuous improvement, quality, manufacturing, and engineering. Participants will complete projects in at least two countries, exposing them to different cultures and allowing them to exercise and build diverse skill sets. During their time in the programme, each participant will be assigned a mentor and local “buddies” to help them adapt to their new responsibilities and environments.

“We started the FORWARD Initiative in 2016 as a means to build long-term stability for our customers and keep us agile in the marketplace as we continue to bring innovative new products and services to the market,” said Sjoerd Jaap Schaaf, Human Resources Director – Recruiting, Succession Planning at Crown Aerosols & Promotional Packaging Europe. “The metal packaging industry is unique when it comes to job longevity. We have found that most people who enter it remain employed in the industry for their entire careers. This programme helps us educate the next generation of leadership about the sector and to give them valuable insight into the exciting, rewarding careers that await them.”

With three cycles of the programme complete, eighteen of its participants still work for Crown, with nine of those individuals assuming management positions.

Tiago Lopes, Supply Chain Manager in Crown’s Parma facility, who enrolled in the programme’s inaugural cycle in 2016, commented: “The FORWARD programme offers an incredible opportunity to build an international career, be exposed to several stimulating and challenging projects and build strong foundational skills for future leadership positions.”

Applications can be submitted until the beginning of March 2020 via the Careers section of Crown’s Corporate website, and more information is available on Crown's LinkedIn. The selection process will be completed by June 2020.

To be selected as an Industrial Engineer candidate for the programme, applicants must have a master's degree in Engineering (mechanical/electrical) and two to four years’ experience in a manufacturing environment. To be selected as Commercial/Marketing Executive, applicants must have a degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Sales, Marketing or Business Data Intelligence, and two to four years' experience in a B2B or B2C environment. Crown expects the candidates to be internationally mobile, fluent in English and preferably speak one other European language.
