(NYSE: CCK) today announced that manufacturers of personal care products can now significantly reduce water penetration, decrease product waste, and protect brand integrity with the new Watertight Tube closure, designed by Zeller Plastik, the plastic closures division of Crown Cork & Seal. The enhanced 2" closure increases water resistance under the lid, and between the tube neck and closure body, protecting bath and shower products from dilution.

Ideal for personal care applications like shower gels, body wash, shampoos, conditioners, and soaps, the polypropylene closure features an enhanced skirt seal to prevent water penetration at the tube neck. An extended thumb tab protects the lid and deck area. In addition, the closure's deck makes a flush fit against the hinge, offering additional protection against water entry. These modifications guard against dilution and mold growth - key factors in protecting product integrity and reducing waste.

The Watertight Tube closure can be color-matched to the package or product, allowing marketers to deliver consistent, high-impact branding and increase point-of-purchase appeal. The customizable closure is available in a 2" diameter, 22-400 finish with .118" and .197" orifice sizes. This is in addition to the extensive line of stock tube closures, including: 1-3/8", 1-1/2", 2" diameters and XS-18, XS-28, M8, M15 and 22-400 tube neck finishes.
