Crown Holdings, Inc. Announces Raymond L. McGowan, Jr. as the New President of its Americas Division

PHILADELPHIA, Dec 17, 2007 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ -- Crown Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: CCK) (Crown) (www.crowncork.com) announced today that Raymond L. McGowan, Jr., age 55, has been selected to replace Frank J. Mechura, age 64, as President of its Americas Division effective January 1, 2008. Mr. McGowan will report to John W. Conway, Crown's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer and will be based in Philadelphia. Mr. Mechura has informed the Company of his decision to retire as of January 31, 2008.

Mr. Conway commented, "Frank's leadership over the last six years has expanded cash flow and profitability throughout the Americas Division. Further, his strong leadership skills and integrity have resulted in improved operating efficiencies and quality throughout our Americas operations. Mr. McGowan is being promoted from his current position as President of North American Packaging. Prior to that, he served as President of Crown's North American Food Packaging business. Prior to joining Crown, he was Group Vice President of Global Consumer Products at Sonoco Products Company.

Mr. McGowan graduated from Providence College with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and completed the Executive Management Program at the University of North Carolina.
