William Saurin Launches Ready-Made Meat Salads in Colorful, Peelable Bowl From Crown Holdings

(NYSE: CCK)(Crown) announces that leading French ready-made meal producer William Saurin has launched a new line of meat salads "Salades Gourmandes" in bowls featuring its Peel Seam(TM) peelable lids. After testing alternative packaging solutions, William Saurin concluded that a metal bowl with Peel Seam(TM) technology was the best option for providing consumer convenience, withstanding a challenging retort process, ensuring product freshness and enhancing shelf-appeal.

The new 230-gram package is now available in supermarkets throughout France and Belgium. The Peel Seam(TM) opening system consists of a 99mm aluminum ring, sealed with a peelable flexible aluminum lid and seamed to the 314ml steel bowl, also provided by Crown. The peelable lid has a tab that allows it to be easily and safely removed from the top of the bowl.

In addition to enhancing consumer convenience, the new package protects product freshness. Maintaining the flavor of their new ham, sausage, chicken, and giblets salads was a top priority for William Saurin when selecting a packaging solution.
