Today, we’re more connected than ever before, and future generations will live in a world where digital interaction will influence even more aspects of our lives. New technology is changing the way society engages with everything around us, including packaging.

Let’s take augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) as an example. According to the International Data Corporation (IDC),[1] rapid expansion has led to global revenue projections for the AR/VR market to increase by at least 100% over the next four years. What’s more, the largest industry use cases for AR and VR in 2017 will be related to product showcasing in the retail segment.

At the upcoming Drinktec (September 11-15; Messe München), Crown will provide attendees with an opportunity to experience Crown’s technologies that embrace the Internet of Things (IoT) and enable brand owners to deliver breakthrough consumer experiences – like AR/VR whilst connecting directly to consumers and gathering valuable behavioral consumption data.

Visitors will learn more about how CrownConnect™ will be a major focus, as its technologies – which include CrownSmart™, SeeThrough™ and CrownSecure™ - push the boundaries of possibility when it comes to marketing and promotional activities. Beverage brands will learn how Crown is able to embed digital intelligence into each individual beverage can, making the package simultaneously trackable and interactive. Attendees will also learn how Crown can help brands enhance shelf appeal, including unique decorative and printing applications, such as thermochromic, photochromic and tactile finishes, in addition to significant advances to Crown’s Accents™ technology.

Come visit Crown at Drinktec (Hall A1 Stand 133). This year represents our 125th anniversary - that’s 125 years of Innovation – come and see what we’re proposing for the 126th .

Please e-mail brigitte.annen@eur.crowncork.com to arrange a visit to our stand.
