When it comes to beer, preserving ingredient freshness while also blocking external contaminants like oxygen and light, is critical to the flavor experience. Equally as important is containing internal carbonation and pressure.

Metal beverage cans offer the perfect packaging solution for beer manufacturers. Thanks to the double seam, found today on virtually all food cans and beverage cans, metal cans deliver an airtight, hermetic seal, which preserves the flavors and attributes that make each brand of craft beer unique.

Crown Beverage Packaging North America will offer insight into this process by hosting a Graphics Training & Seamer School at this month’s Craft Brewers Conference. The training, set for Wednesday, May 2nd at the Nashville Convention Center from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Room 202A, will orient attendees to the unique considerations when designing graphics for beverage cans and explain the production process from initial design and separation work to developing a pilot can through to the first production run. The Seamer School will focus on the basics of seaming an end to a can and include topics such as seam integrity, double hooks and how to properly test cans on filling lines.

Visit Crown at the Craft Brewers Conference (April 30 – May 3, Nashville, TN; Booth 2738) to learn more about the value that metal packaging delivers to craft brewers.
