Yardley, PA – December 11, 2019.  Nicolas Feuillatte is celebrating the inclusion of the Hillsides, Houses and Cellars of the Champagne region on the illustrious Unesco World Heritage List with a new, multi-award winning, limited edition tin. The prestigious champagne brand entrusted Crown Aerosols & Promotional Packaging Europe with the task of creating a tin that shines the light of innovation on the world of Champagne. In addition to seeking a premium and striking design, Nicolas Feuillatte placed a high priority on sustainability. The final package is constructed entirely of metal and eliminates the need for a plastic insert to hold the bottle in place.

Crown’s design engineering team in Mansfield, U.K. – where the tins were also produced – developed and presented a range of options, from which Nicolas Feuillatte chose the round-to-square format with an innovative development twist. The exclusion of a plastic insert presented a unique design challenge to the team, who created a new lid with a bespoke recess to hold the bottle in place at the neck end. The Crown team also conducted multiple tests to ensure the design was viable from production through to the retail shelf without impacting production processes such as filling, for example.

Using a combination of metallic and opaque areas, embossed details and an overall matt finish, the tin design commemorates the inclusion of Champagne Hillsides, Houses & Cellars on the Unesco World Heritage List in several ways. Many other Unesco World Heritage Sites are also recognized throughout the design, such as Mont-Saint-Michel in Normandy, France, and the Statue of Liberty in New York. A celebratory spirit is injected with the depiction of fireworks in the sky.

The overall result is a remarkable and fitting tribute to this momentous event, captured in a format that is 100% recyclable and unique to the Champagne market. The savoir-faire and inimitable Nicolas Feuillatte style, defined by its precision, elegance and finesse, come through in every element of this luxurious tin and ultimately highlight the brand’s commitment to stand-out packaging that balances the height of luxury with effortless sustainability.

In 2019, the stylish tin was recognised in a number of prestigious awards, winning Metal Pack of the Year in the UK Packaging Awards, Best in Metal at the MPMA annual dinner, Joint Bronze at The Canmaker Can of the Year Awards and Packaging Innovation of the Year in the Drinks International Travel Retail Awards.
