Pumpkin Pie
Monday, November 20, 2017

Families across the United States have varying traditions when it comes to the food they serve for the holidays. However, pumpkin pie is, without a doubt, synonymous with Thanksgiving. In fact, around 50 million pumpkin pies are consumed each Thanksgiving.1

Canned pumpkin is an ideal, time-saving option to create this delicious dessert. Along with pumpkin pie, canned pumpkin can be used in numerous other recipes, such as pumpkin pie-stuffed waffles, creamy pumpkin spice bars, pumpkin cookies and more!

According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the largest pumpkin pie ever baked weighed 3,699 pounds and measured 20 feet2. It was made with:

  • 440 sheets of dough
  • Canned pumpkin
  • Evaporated milk
  • Eggs
  • Sugar
  • Salt
  • Cinnamon
  • Pumpkin spice

Now that’s a lot of cans!

If the time-saving element of using canned pumpkin isn’t enticing enough, consider that using food cans, which are 100% recyclable and infinitely recyclable, also translates to doing something good for the environment.

Happy Thanksgiving!
